Precast panels are great when the site, crane and geometry line up. When they don’t — which is most renovation sites in Halton — an in-place pour with conventional formwork wins:

  • One accountable crew. Forming, rebar, pour, cure and strip stay in-house
  • Openings where you need them. Stairs, skylights, chases placed during forming

Insulated Slab Option

InsulDeck® — the slab that insulates itself

Our core suspended-slab method is conventional, reusable formwork — stripped and gone when the slab is cured. But when the design wants an insulated elevated assembly — an addition floor over a garage, a walk-out deck, or a low-rise roof deck — we also install InsulDeck®, an insulated concrete form system for floors, roofs and elevated slabs that stays in place after the pour as insulation, utility chase space and finish backing.

  • No stripping, minimal shoring — the manufacturer describes a lightweight, self-supporting joist-and-deck system that eliminates form removal and much of the shoring and mass
  • Insulated & quiet — the forming system becomes the insulation, so the slab performs like an ICF wall: energy-efficient, comfortable, and radiant-heating friendly
  • Built-in details — utility chases and steel furring strips are part of the system, speeding up the trades that follow
  • Design flexibility — manufacturer-cited clear spans up to roughly 33 ft for typical residential loads, with R-value and joist depth varied to project requirements
  • Same crew, same QA — we install manufacturer-approved assemblies with our engineer review, pour monitoring and documentation standard

The Engineering Side

Shoring is not guesswork

A suspended slab only works if the temporary structure under it is designed as carefully as the slab itself. Here’s what happens on every elevated pour:

1 · Engineer-designed shoring

A P.Eng. provides (or reviews) the shoring layout: member sizes, spacing, bracing and load paths for the fresh-concrete load. We build to that drawing — not to “what usually works”.

2 · Inspection hold points

Formwork and rebar are inspected before concrete arrives. Rebar mats, chairs, splices and embeds are photographed for the record.

3 · Controlled pour & cure

Slump tests, vibration, screeding to level, then a cure regime that follows the engineer’s schedule — never rushed.

4 · Strip on schedule

Shoring stays until the engineer’s stripping criteria are met. We manage the calendar so your trades aren’t held up — safely.
